Under the leadership and in collaboration with lead designer Anthony Gall, our office prepared the designs for a velodrome facility suitable for world-class and Olympic-level competitions. The project progressed through concept design, building permit and detailed design phases, initially for a Budapest location and later for Debrecen. The final and fully developed design was completed for the Debrecen site. Key parameters include a 250-metre, WCC-certified track suitable for world and Olympic competitions, with expandable spectator capacity ranging from 1,650 to 2,780 seats. In addition to the primary velodrome function, the project incorporates an outdoor criterium and BMX racing track. Together with the Velopark developed alongside the project, the designs enable the creation of a national cycling sports centre. The facility is suitable for competitions, training and community use, supporting a wide range of functions. Additional multi-purpose sports and training activities include athletics and aerobics. The main foyer is also suitable for event use, and the complex accommodates federation offices and UCI administrative functions.
